Well, it is less than a week until I fly out with Brian and Heather Cooper to Ethiopia. Wow! The range of emotions are amazing, but mostly I am just super excited about the trip and what God is going to show us.
This weekend is going to be devoted to packing and getting everything ready to go. I have a feeling the next few days are going to be a blur.
We fly out next Wednesday, Oct. 29th from LAX to Washington DC and then from DC with a quick stop in Rome and then on to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We will be in Ethiopia for 12 days and the major areas that we are visiting are circled on the map. One of the first things we will be doing is going to Awasa to visit the Project Eden site.
Please be praying for health and protection for us as we travel. Also pray that we will have opportunities to meet and get to know the pastors and people at the Ethiopian Free Methodist churches. And pray for unity between Brian and Heather and I as we spend 2 weeks together in ministry and for our families back at home.

i am SO excited that you are going to be in Africa! some advice, you will be stared at A LOT. here the children like to touch my skin and play with my hair, it is so different from their own. it takes a little getting used to. but the people are so amazing, it's difficult not to fall in love with them instantly. there are no wild animals, which is really sad, unless you can get to a game park, but it sounds like you are going to be really busy. i wish so much that we could see you while you are over here, but we'll just have to wait until you get back. we'll be checking your blog, if you get the chance to update it that would be sweet. the internet is SUPER slow here, so i wouldn't expect to post a bunch of pictures. you are going to have so much fun! i can't wait to hear about it. try not to worry, we're praying for you and our God is a big big God! say hello to everyone for us. we miss you so much! - joy and jamison
